Regulations of the Professional eBasketball League

Any cheating, glitch, hack, or any other alteration of the game’s normal functioning to gain an advantage is STRICTLY PROHIBITED and will result in a suspension of four games to an entire season for the offender, and a similar suspension for their team captains.

These rules are subject to changes before, during, and/or after each season, which will be published on our official media.

  • Players
  • To participate as a player on any team and/or activity, each player must have an active registration on ebasket.pro. If you don’t have an account yet, you can register here.
  • Players from both Xbox and PlayStation can participate, due to the ease of crossplay in the game.
  • Players’ overall ratings or levels are not restricted, however, it is strictly prohibited to use mods, hacks, or anything that alters the game’s normal behavior to increase a player’s level.
  • Teams

How can I register my team? To register a team for competitions, you must first have the team created on the ebasket.pro platform, meeting the following requirements:

  • The team name must be original, not contain any offensive or offensive words, nor be related to any brand/product without the consent of both the brand and eBasketPro.
  • The name must be a maximum of 15 characters.
  • The team logo must meet the following characteristics:
    • The image file must be in PNG format.
    • The image must have no background, that is, the background must be transparent.
    • The resolution must be 1000×1000 or 1200×1200 pixels.
    • The file size must not exceed 5MB.
    • Must not contain offensive images.
    • It must not contain anything related to any brand/product without the consent of both the brand and VPN.
  • The device can be registered for Xbox or PlayStation, both work since the game has Crossplay.

1. Generalities

1.1. Purpose of the Regulation: These regulations define, regulate and manage the competition of the Professional eBasketball League (the «League»), authorized and organized under the supervision of Sarmerch

1.2. Modifications: The League reserves the right to modify or update these regulations at any time. All participating teams will be notified of any modifications through official channels.

1.3. Precedence: In the event of a conflict, the general statutes of EFIBA shall prevail over these regulations, except as expressly provided herein.

2. Competition and Participation

  • Team captains are required to report their matches with rosters and statistics no later than 24 hours after the official start time of the first game of the day.
  • Failure to report in a timely manner will result in your inability to count toward the best team and player by position. This will also affect your team’s and player’s overall ranking.
  • If you experience any issues when reporting a game (server issues, website issues, etc.), you must report it to the administration for assistance within 24 hours. Otherwise, the penalty described above will apply.
  • Games must include images that support the reported statistics.
  • If a game has been rescheduled (with the mutual agreement of the teams), this must be reported to the administration to adjust the date; otherwise, an automatic penalty for failure to report will be incurred.
  • Rescheduled games must be played and reported during the same week.

2.1. Groups: Eligible teams will be organized into groups at the start of the competition to facilitate a fair and orderly competition structure. The number of teams in each group and the total number of groups will depend on the number of entries received for the season.

  • Group Assignment: Teams will be assigned to groups by lottery or based on specific criteria determined by the League, such as experience level or performance in previous seasons, if applicable.
  • Group Competition Format: Within each group, teams will play each other in a round-robin format. Teams will accumulate points for wins and losses to determine their position in the group standings.
  • Qualifying for the Playoffs: At the end of the group stage, the teams with the highest points in each group will advance to the knockout stage, where they will compete for the League title in a single-elimination system.
  • Dates and Times: Group stage match dates and times will be announced at the start of the season through official League communication channels, such as Discord and email. It is each team’s responsibility to stay informed of official announcements and adhere to the competition schedule.
  • Ties in Group Standings: In the event of a tie in points between two or more teams at the end of the group stage, tiebreakers established by the League, such as head-to-head, points difference, and other criteria deemed fair by the League, will be applied to determine the final standings.

This group structure allows for organized and progressive competition, facilitating teams’ fair progress to the League’s knockout stages.

2.2. Competition System: The competition will include a regular season and a playoff phase to determine the league champion. The specific rules of play will be the same as those used in NBA2K Pro-AM mode.

3. Eligibility, Composition and Registration of Teams

3.1.Team Eligibility: Any person of legal age may register a team for the Professional eBasketball League, provided they do so in good faith and in compliance with the rules established in these regulations. Teams must demonstrate respect for other participants and for the competitive and professional spirit of the League.

Roster and Standings

  • You can play with any position that the game allows.
  • Squads must have a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 7 players

Transfers

  • There will be a total of 2 transfer periods during the season:
  • At the beginning, before the first official game (qualifier or league) begins
  • Mid-season
  • Players can enter and/or leave teams once during the transfer window.
  • Head captains cannot leave the teams without leaving a team manager.
  • During the qualifiers they can leave, but not join another team.
  • Near the playoff stage, they will be able to leave, but not join another team.
  • Match Report

3.2. Rules for Registering a Team:

  • The team name must be unique and not contain offensive, vulgar, or hateful language, violence, or discrimination.
  • All team players must meet the age and good conduct requirements established by the League.
  • Each team must designate a Captain and a Streamer; the Captain will be the point of contact with the League, and the Streamer will be responsible for broadcasting the game when required.
  • The team must sign a commitment to comply with the League’s rules and fair play.
  • Teams must register on the League’s official platform and complete the registration form with all player information by the indicated deadline.

3.3. Team Composition:

  • For online competitions, each team must be composed of a minimum of five (5) and a maximum of seven (7) players.
  • Rotation of players in the starting lineup is permitted, but the team must notify any changes at least 24 hours before the game.

3.4. Registration Confirmation:

  • Teams that have completed registration will receive confirmation of participation from the League.
  • Any team that withdraws after confirmation will be subject to the penalties set forth in these regulations.

3.5. Team Change Restriction: Once registered with a team for the League season, each player must remain on that team for the entire duration of the competition.

No team changes will be permitted once the season has started, regardless of the circumstances. This measure aims to ensure the cohesion and commitment of players to their respective teams and preserve the integrity of the competition.

Transfers will only be permitted during the interseason period.

4. Player Eligibility and Registration

4.1. Player Eligibility Requirements:

To be eligible to participate in the Professional eBasketball League, each player must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum Age: Players must be at least sixteen (16) years old at the start of the season. This ensures that all participants have the necessary maturity to compete fairly and professionally in the League.
  • Exclusivity Commitment: Players must not have previously competed for another team within the League in the same season. This rule seeks to avoid conflicts of interest and promote team cohesion by ensuring that players are fully committed to a single team throughout the season.
  • Good Conduct and Compliance with Rules: All players must demonstrate a commitment to respect for other participants, League organizers, and the general public. Any player who has previously been sanctioned for unsportsmanlike conduct, inappropriate behavior, or failure to comply with rules in previous competitions may be ineligible to participate in the League, at the discretion of the organizers.
  • Complete and Accurate Registration: Each player must complete the registration process by providing accurate and verified information, including their full name, age, nationality, and PS/Non-Xbox ID. Players who provide false or misleading information may be disqualified from the League.
  • Technical Requirements Compliance: Players must have the necessary equipment to compete, including a PlayStation 5 console, an active PSN account, and a PS Plus subscription or equivalent on Xbox and PlayStation 4 for Crossplay. This ensures that all players have access to the gaming platform and meet the competition’s technical standards.

4.2. Player Verification:

A player will only be considered «Verified» once the League has completed the verification process and confirmed that the player meets all the requirements established in these regulations. This verification process is mandatory and consists of the following steps:

  • Document Review: The League will review the documentation provided by the player, which includes official identification, date of birth, and any other information required during registration.
  • Good Conduct Confirmation: The League reserves the right to review players’ conduct records in previous competitions. Any history of unsportsmanlike behavior, disrespect, or serious infractions may result in the denial of player verification.
  • Technical Requirements Compliance: Verification will also include confirmation that the player has the necessary equipment to compete adequately in the League. This includes a valid PSN account, PS Plus subscription, and any other technical requirements.
  • Verification Success Notification: Once the League has verified all information, the player will receive a “Verification Success” notification, allowing them to participate in the League with their team. Only verified players will be able to compete in official League matches.

This verification process ensures that all participants meet the League’s requirements, promoting fair and organized competition.

5. Equipment and Dress Code

5.1. Equipment for Inline Competitions:

  • Each player must have access to the latest version of NBA2K on PlayStation 5. or for Crossplay, NBA 2k allows crossplay between XBOX and PS5
  • Each player must have a valid PSN ID and an active PS Plus subscription.
  • The Team Captain or Streamer must have a webcam for streaming.

5.2. Dress Code:

The dress code is an essential element of the Professional eBasketball League’s in-person competitions, and all players must adhere to the following rules to maintain a professional image and respect the League’s competitive spirit.

  • In in-person competitions, players must wear the official uniform provided or approved by the League.
  • The use of any accessory containing political messages, related to gambling, alcohol, or any other inappropriate content is prohibited.
  • Official Uniform: Players must wear the official uniform of the team they represent. Each team is responsible for designing and providing its own uniforms, which must meet specifications approved by the League. The uniform design must be submitted for approval before the start of the season or competition, ensuring that all uniforms meet the League’s image standards.
  • Permitted Logos and Sponsorships: Teams may include sponsor logos on their uniforms, provided they comply with the League’s content policies. Logos or messages promoting inappropriate products or services, such as gambling, alcohol, firearms, or any offensive or controversial content, are prohibited. The League reserves the right to request changes to uniforms if it deems the logos or sponsorships do not comply with these policies.
  • Accessories: Players may wear accessories as long as they appropriately complement the uniform and do not distract attention from the competition. However, the use of accessories that contain or promote messages of a political, religious, offensive, or inappropriate nature is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, any accessories with messages about gambling, alcohol, prohibited substances, weapons, or any sensitive topic that may distract or upset other participants or the public.
  • Personal Appearance: Players are expected to maintain a neat and professional appearance at all in-person competitions. This includes proper care of their attire, which must be clean and in good condition. Additionally, it is recommended to avoid extravagant attire that could distract the audience or other competitors, in order to maintain focus on the game and the competitive spirit.
  • Consequences for Non-Compliance: Any player or team that fails to comply with the dress code may be subject to sanctions, ranging from warnings to disqualification from the competition, depending on the severity of the violation. In cases of non-compliance, the head referee or league officials may request that the player make the necessary adjustments to their attire before being allowed to compete.

This dress code seeks to foster a professional and respectful environment within the League, ensuring that the image of the competition remains aligned with the values ​​of integrity and respect.

6. Officials and Referees

6.1. Head Referee: The League will appoint a head referee for each match or for the entire competition, who will have authority over final scoring decisions, classification, and game consequences.

6.2. Administrators: The League may appoint administrators who will oversee matches, coordinate with teams, and make decisions in cases of disconnections or other technical issues.

7. Game Organization and Connection Rules

7.1. Official Communication Channels: All official communication between teams and the League will take place on the Competition’s Discord server.

7.2. Punctuality:

  • Players must be ready in the Pro-Am arena at the scheduled time.
  • If a player arrives late, the team will lose the match by default.

7.3. Online Game Preparation: Each team must ensure connection and resolve technical issues before the start of the match.

7.4. Disconnections: If a player disconnects, they will be replaced by a bot controlled by the game’s AI.

8. Commercial Rights

8.1. Ownership of Commercial Rights: All commercial rights (including broadcasting, sponsorship and other rights) related to the League belong to Sarmerch

8.2. Use of Intellectual Property:

  • Players and teams may not commercially associate with the League or use its intellectual property rights without prior written consent.
  • Any materials related to the Competition must be used exclusively for internal purposes and may not be distributed or used for commercial purposes without permission from the League.

9. Media and Social Networks

9.1. Social Media Obligations:

  • Teams must announce their participation, share official streaming links, and provide regular coverage of their participation on their own social media accounts.
  • Posts must include official League hashtags such as #eBasketPro and @eBasketPro

9.2. Media Coverage:

  • Teams must be available for interviews, press conferences, and other media activities organized by the League.

10. Behavior and Discipline

10.1. Principles of Conduct: All players must maintain appropriate and respectful conduct in all their online and offline interactions.

10.2. Prohibited Behavior:

  • Not being punctual when showing up to a game.
  • Violate any applicable law or League regulation.
  • Intentionally disconnecting or manipulating the game to gain an advantage.
  • Using software or hardware that interferes with gameplay.
  • Engaging in inappropriate behavior, including harassment, threats, hate speech, or abusive behavior on social media or in-game.

10.3. Sanctions: Violations of the rules may result in disciplinary sanctions, including loss of points, expulsion from the competition, or fines of up to [amount of fine], depending on the severity of the violation.

11. Confidentiality and Use of Data

11.1. Confidentiality: Players and teams must not disclose any confidential information provided by the League except when expressly authorized.

11.2. Data Protection: By participating in the League, players agree to the use of their personal data (name, date of birth, PSN ID) for the purposes of organizing, managing, and monitoring the competition.
